Job Description

This position is located within the Food and Beverage Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department under the Navy Region Southwest. The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for Navy personnel and their families by providing a variety of support services and recreational activities. Job Qualifications

  • Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence
  • Knowledge of proper food handling techniques
  • Knowledge of menu compositions including American and foreign items
  • Familiarity with beverage and wine pairings and their service conditions
  • Skill in proper table setting
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations for billing
  • Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons while serving alcohol

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence
  • Apply proper food handling techniques such as correct sides to serve or remove dishes from
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the menu items including American and foreign foods
  • Recommend appropriate beverage and wine pairings including serving temperatures
  • Set tables using proper table setting techniques
  • Calculate and tabulate guest checks accurately
  • Monitor and recognize intoxicated patrons during alcohol service
