Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs play a crucial role in supporting the well-being and quality of life for service members, their families, and the command community. These programs encompass a wide array of activities designed to enhance morale and foster social interaction and relaxation through various recreational, informational, and community-focused offerings. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in customer service and recreation activity-based functions
  • Ability to organize and plan events
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Navy MWR mission
  • Strong record-keeping abilities
  • Familiarity with computers and office procedures

  • Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity-based functions
  • Ability to organize, plan, and administer special events and entertainment activities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Navy MWR mission and Community Recreation activities
  • Ability to maintain records and compile data for reports
  • Proficiency with computers, office procedures, and print production
  • Understanding of leisure time activity principles and procedures

Job Duties

  • Organize and administer special events and entertainment activities
  • Provide recreation information and resources to the community
  • Support command events, visiting ships, and fleet activities
  • Manage community events, trips, tours, and outings
  • Oversee party and picnic rental equipment and resale tickets
  • Maintain and manage recreational green spaces and facilities such as bowling alleys and libraries
  • Assist with Liberty programs, grab-n-go services, movie screenings, and outdoor recreation activities
