The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Community Recreation program is a vital service dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for military personnel, their families, and the community. This comprehensive program offers a broad range of recreational activities and services designed to meet the diverse interests and needs of its members. These services include organizing special events, managing recreation information and resources, supporting command events, visiting ships or fleet operations, and facilitating community-focused activities such as trips, tours, outings, parties, and picnics. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in customer service or recreation activities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of organizing leisure activities
  • Ability to maintain documentation and report data
  • Competency in using computers and office software
  • Sound decision-making ability

Job Qualifications

  • Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity-based functions
  • Ability to organize, plan, and administer special events and entertainment activities
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of leisure time activity organization and planning techniques
  • Understanding of Navy MWR mission and community recreation scope
  • Familiarity with recreation activity functions and operations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain records, compile data, and perform research on recreation topics
  • Competency in following oral and written instructions
  • Proficiency with computers, office procedures, and print production
