The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department in the Navy Region Southwest at Naval Base San Diego is a vital component committed to enhancing the quality of life for Navy personnel and their families. Job Requirements

  • Must provide a copy of college transcripts showing degree awarded or conferred when applying
  • A degree in Business Administration or Food and Beverage Management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel to other facilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity in food and beverage service
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management

Job Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in Food and Beverage Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of specialized experience managing food and beverage operations including programming, marketing, catering and banquet operations
  • Detailed knowledge of food and beverage service goals, principles and techniques
  • Experience in personnel management and advertising
  • Extensive supervisory experience in food and beverage operations
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial management, and planning
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate and maintain positive working relationships

Job Duties

  • Oversee food and beverage operations including cost and sales analysis to determine profit or loss status
  • Manage staffing and labor costs to ensure efficient operation
  • Coordinate programming, marketing, and advertising initiatives for the facility
  • Supervise the planning and execution of special events within the food and beverage facilities
  • Analyze financial performance including budgeting and cost control
  • Maintain excellent personnel relations with management, command officials, and staff
  • Travel to other facilities to evaluate services and provide recommendations
