This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department within the Navy Region Southwest at Naval Base San Diego. Job Requirements

  • Must provide a copy of college transcripts showing degree awarded or conferred when applying
  • Degree in Business Administration or Food and Beverage Management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Proven experience in managing comprehensive food and beverage programs including catering and banquets
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with management personnel, command officials, and employees
  • Ability to influence and negotiate to meet organizational goals
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight relevant to food and beverage operations

Job Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Food and Beverage Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of specialized experience managing food and beverage operations including programming, marketing, catering, and banquet operations
  • Detailed knowledge of food and beverage service goals, principles, and techniques
  • Experience in personnel management and advertising
  • Extensive supervisory or business management experience in food and beverage operations
  • Background in budgeting, financial management, and planning
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee food and beverage operations including cost and sales analysis to determine profit and loss status
  • Manage staffing and labor cost analysis to optimize workforce efficiency
  • Coordinate programming, marketing, and advertising efforts to promote food and beverage services
  • Plan and oversee special events within the facilities to enhance customer experience
  • Maintain compliance with department goals, principles, and food service techniques
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and operational forecasts
  • Travel to other facilities to appraise services and implement best practices aligned with the mission
