Job Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
  • Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of methods and procedures for food preparation in small quantities
  • Ability to read and understand food service materials such as labels and recipes
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic for recipe scaling and portion calculations
  • Knowledge of food characteristics including color, flavor, consistency, texture, temperature, and cooking times
  • Skill in planning, coordinating, and timing steps to have menu items ready at specified times
  • Knowledge of sanitation principles

Job Duties

  • Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks including preparing pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables
  • Prepare hot cereals, broil meats, cook soups, sauces, gravies, and make cold sandwich fillings
  • Prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets, chicken nuggets, and bake pizza
  • Perform food preparation tasks including peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, and breading
  • Weigh, measure, and dispense foods according to portion controls
  • Set up and replenish salad bars
  • Cover, date, and store leftovers according to procedures
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
  • Maintain accurate food inventories and rotate stock to prevent spoilage
  • Perform other related duties as required
