Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- valid Class C driver's license and ability to pass personal and criminal background investigations
- ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
- ability to use hands, arms and fingers repetitively
- ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch and crawl
- knowledge of safety and janitorial procedures
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to understand and follow instructions
- willingness to wear safety equipment
- ability to maintain cleaning supply inventory
- extensive background checks required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of related education and experience
- valid Class C driver's license
- ability to read, write, add and subtract whole numbers
- knowledge of janitorial tools, materials and procedures
- ability to follow standard cleaning routines
- skill in operating cleaning and maintenance equipment
- knowledge of maintenance, construction and repair methods
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to maintain janitorial supply inventory

Job Duties
- Perform daily garbage removal including trash and recycling
- dust chairs, equipment, window ledges, countertops, heating and ventilation registers
- clean and polish glass, doors, metal surfaces and drinking fountains
- vacuum and clean elevator floors, tracks, and button panels
- sweep and mop non-carpeted corridors and offices
- clean foyer entrances and maintain cleanliness under doormats
- vacuum all carpeted areas including elevators
- sweep and dust stair landings, railings, door moldings and grills
- clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms daily
- power wash cell block walls weekly and clean areas including contamination with bodily fluids
- sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- clean tables, shelves, counters, lunchrooms and outside areas
- maintain snow removal and de-icing operations
- perform minor facility maintenance and emergency plumbing repairs
- maintain janitorial supply inventory and communicate needs to Facilities Manager
- move furniture and equipment for cleaning
- dust and wash walls, windows and ceilings
- remove stains with appropriate chemicals
- sweep walks, rake leaves and remove snow
- wear appropriate safety equipment and perform all duties following safety guidelines
- provide effective customer service with courtesy to employees, public, and internal departments
