Job Requirements

  • Experience leading music or movement-based programs with preschool or early elementary-aged children in camp, school, daycare, or community settings
  • strong singing voice and sense of rhythm
  • background in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred
  • familiarity with common early childhood songs, fingerplays, and classroom instruments
  • ability to manage young groups with warmth, energy, and clarity
  • current First Aid and CPR certification required (training available if needed)
  • standing and sitting for long periods
  • bending, lifting, pushing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • reach at and above shoulder height
  • adapt to frequent position changes
  • hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • use hands and fingers for manipulation and use of educational tools
  • specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Design and lead interactive 40-minute music sessions for Pre-K to Grade 1 campers
  • use age-appropriate teaching methods such as call-and-response songs, rhythm games, movement activities, and simple instruments
  • manage classroom routines and camper behavior to foster a secure and engaging environment
  • set up, sanitize, and maintain musical instruments and props
  • collaborate with camp counselors and communicate camper observations to Division Leads
  • contribute to camp spirit by supporting weekly themes, events, and gatherings through music
  • serve as a positive role model by demonstrating enthusiasm, patience, and kindness
