  • Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, drink recipes, and POS systems
  • Willingness to commute to downtown location
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, hot, and/or loud environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds using proper techniques

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of cocktail tray service
  • Basic food service skills
  • Knowledge of drink recipes and garnishes
  • Experience with point of sale systems
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or willingness to complete paid training
  • Positive attitude
  • Teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in high volume live music environment preferred
  • Experience recognizing valid IDs preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor, including current drink trends preferred
  • Point of sale knowledge, preferably MICROS, preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area
  • Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
  • Assist other employees as needed
  • Follow opening and closing procedures, checking out with manager on duty
  • Adhere to all House of Blues policies and procedures
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and policies
  • Request proper identification for guests appearing under 30 years of age
  • Recognize and responsibly handle guests becoming too intoxicated
  • Perform cash handling, bank procedures, and payment processing
  • Work special events as scheduled
  • Interact with guests in a natural, friendly manner to cultivate repeat business
  • Suggestively sell menu items to guests
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders promptly
  • Prioritize and organize drink orders
  • Clean spills and remove obstacles using proper techniques
