Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Events Management or a related field and 2 years of experience in planning and coordinating special events
  • or any combination of experience or training enabling one to perform essential job functions
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • self-motivated and skilled in problem solving
  • computer software knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software
  • must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide support to Facility Rentals Manager
  • respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner and conduct site visits when needed
  • assist Facility Rentals team with recruiting new business and maintaining satisfied clients
  • assist and attend weekly meetings to make all staff aware of upcoming needs and responsibilities
  • serve as liaison for the ISMHS with food service contractors, entertainment groups, rental companies, and other vendors to ensure resource availability and on-site event representation
  • deliver exquisite customer service to clients and proactively anticipate their needs
  • perform pre-event walk-throughs to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
  • communicate all needs ahead of time to Maintenance, Security, AV, Experiences, Housekeeping, Education/Programming, and Visitor Experiences
  • ensure efficient administration of event rentals area including timely correspondence and client record maintenance
  • ensure proper post-event follow-ups and client evaluations are completed as a measure of customer satisfaction
  • maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times
  • work cooperatively and productively to assist the museum in achieving its overall mission
