Job Requirements

  • Documented experience managing quick service, casual dine, or full-service restaurants
  • Ability to work varied and rotating schedules including opening, busy, and closing shifts
  • Graduation from a relevant management or culinary program preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend policy, menus, and communication materials
  • Strong leadership skills with team and operational management capabilities
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion principles
  • Capability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Valid ability to conduct hiring and termination processes
  • Compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Proven multi-unit restaurant management experience of 3-5 years with overall restaurant experience of 8-10 years
  • Graduation from Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for part of experience
  • Strong team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
  • Knowledge of HMSHost policies, product, service, quality, operations, and standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and understand operational documents
  • Experience with financial monitoring and data analysis
  • Familiarity with use of technology and company software tools

Job Duties

  • Ensure all GMs and staff prepare restaurants for next-day opening and execute closing/opening checklists
  • Schedule managers to maintain leadership presence during all operation hours
  • Provide staff support, coaching, and encouragement to meet business goals
  • Interview and make hiring, termination, and promotion decisions for associates
  • Hold GMs accountable for onboarding/offboarding and compliance with training and badging requirements
  • Analyze financial and operational reports to monitor zone progress and assign tasks accordingly
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on decisions, communicate vision and goals, and implement recognition programs
  • Make purchasing decisions for maintenance and supplies
  • Ensure daily orders and product stocking meet requirements and handle vendor relations
  • Train staff in brand standards, company tools, and safety protocols
  • Manage day-to-day restaurant activities and resolve issues, escalating as needed
  • Conduct ongoing employee development and feedback
  • Implement marketing programs and maintain compliance with promotional activities
  • Maintain safety and health standards and train staff on wellness protocols
