Job Requirements
- minimum of 8-10 years overall restaurant experience
- minimum of 3 years concurrent multi-unit management experience for small zones or 5 years for large zones
- proven leadership and delegation capabilities
- knowledge of food service operational standards
- ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- flexible availability to work varied and rotating schedules including opening and closing shifts
- knowledge of safety and health regulations
- ability to operate and train staff on company tools and software
Job Qualifications
- documented experience managing multiple types of restaurants including QSR, casual dining, and full service within the assigned zone
- minimum of 3 years concurrent multi-unit, multi-concept management experience for small zones or 5 years for large zones
- overall restaurant management experience between 8-10 years
- graduation from food service management or culinary program may substitute for part of experience requirement
- strong team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
- knowledge of HMSHost policies and operational standards or ability to learn quickly
- effective communication skills including speaking, reading, and comprehension
- ability to understand menus, brand standards, and converse comfortably with diverse individuals
Job Duties
- ensures all GMs and staff prepare restaurants for next day opening, holding GMs accountable for closing and opening checklists
- manages scheduling of managers to ensure leadership presence during all operating hours
- provides consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to restaurant staff
- conducts hiring, termination, and promotion decisions
- holds GM accountable for onboarding and offboarding associates including compliance with badging and training
- analyzes financial and operational data to monitor zone goals and assign associates accordingly
- collaborates regularly with senior leadership to communicate strategy and goals
- supports employee recognition initiatives
- manages supply orders and vendor communications
- ensures proficiency of staff with company tools and software
- monitors and maintains restaurant equipment, scheduling repairs as needed
- champions waste minimization and participates in food donation programs
- assesses skill levels and coordinates training and education activities
- maintains working knowledge of brand standards, lease agreements, and company policies
- develops and implements strategies to increase revenue
- manages day-to-day activities of associates within the zone
- resolves customer and associate issues using discretion
- provides ongoing performance feedback to subordinate leaders
- ensures planned maintenance and addresses repair needs
- implements marketing programs and promotional activities
- ensures compliance with health, sanitary, and safety regulations
- holds GMs accountable for safety standards and performs health and safety activities as required
