Job Requirements

  • minimum of 3 years managing multi-unit, multi-concept restaurants
  • 8-10 years overall restaurant industry experience
  • ability to work varied and rotating schedules, including opening and closing shifts
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of operational and financial data analysis
  • compliance with health, safety and legal standards
  • proficient in using company software tools such as MIV, Crunch Time and Kronos
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to resolve conflicts and make sound decisions
  • willingness to promote diversity and inclusion within the team

Job Qualifications

  • documented experience managing multi-unit, multi-concept restaurants for a minimum of 3-5 years
  • substantial overall restaurant experience of 8-10 years
  • graduation from a food service management or culinary program may substitute for some experience
  • strong team management and delegation skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • knowledge of HMSHost policies, product, service, quality, equipment and operations standards or ability to quickly learn them
  • effective communication skills in speaking, reading and comprehension
  • demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities

Job Duties

  • ensures all general managers and staff prepare each restaurant for next-day opening and execute closing and opening requirements
  • schedules managers to maintain leadership presence during all operating hours
  • demonstrates manager behaviors that foster employee engagement
  • provides coaching and support to restaurant staff to achieve business goals
  • holds general managers accountable for onboarding and offboarding associates
  • monitors financial and operational data to track progress and assign tasks
  • collaborates with senior leadership to communicate goals and strategies
  • supports employee recognition initiatives and champions employee engagement behaviors
  • makes purchasing decisions and addresses maintenance and loss prevention concerns
  • ensures product availability and inventory management
  • teaches associates to use company systems and tools
  • monitors and maintains restaurant equipment and schedules repairs
  • promotes waste minimization and participates in food donation programs
  • assesses and coordinates training and education activities
  • embraces new technologies and trains employees on adoption
  • maintains knowledge of brand standards, lease agreements and labor relations protocols
  • develops and implements creative revenue strategies
  • manages day-to-day associate activities within the zone
  • resolves customer and associate issues or escalates them as necessary
  • provides feedback to subordinate leaders for development and goal attainment
  • implements marketing programs and promotional activities
  • ensures compliance with health and safety standards and trains associates in wellness protocols
