- familiarity and product knowledge of beverages, wines, and garnishes
Job Duties
- deliver internal and external guest service the boyd gaming way
- always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor
- be polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members
- look for and act upon opportunities to assist guests and team members
- be sincere and genuine during all interactions
- maintain the bar stock and keep supply areas organized and up to par
- assist bartender with various tasks such as cutting and replenishing fruit trays
- stock liquor, beers, and wines
- provide change when needed
- assist with cleanliness of bar
- check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
- assist guests with beverage and food selection
- adhere to company policy by measuring all drinks using either the berg system or a jigger
- serve wine, bottled or draft beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes
- mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages
- deliver beverage orders to guests in a timely manner
- participate in liquor glassware removal ensuring compliance with gaming commission regulations
- accurately account for and collect payment for drink orders through POS system
- clean and stock glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- clean bars, work areas, and tables
- maintain lounge and bar area by collecting used items and debris
- provide responsible alcohol service and apply training from certification course
- slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
- receive and deliver orders to appropriate venue
- observe health department regulations
- abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
- use and maintain assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary and safe manner
- consistent attendance at company training programs
- carry out duties with attention to detail, sanitation and safety
- complete opening, closing and other side duties
- pass all tests given including training
- maintain a well-groomed neat and clean appearance
- possess resiliency to deal with difficult guests
- work harmoniously with coworkers
- perform all job functions according to standard operating procedures
- perform all duties as assigned by management
