Job Requirements

  • high school diploma
  • previous experience working with students and families
  • experience in educational programming or recreation
  • ability to collaborate with a variety of community partners
  • excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • ability to use smart phone, standard office equipment, computer, internet, shared document platforms and programs
  • working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • able to effectively collaborate with diverse groups
  • works with an attention to detail and clear organization abilities
  • develop and deliver effective small group presentations for youth leaders and students
  • able to handle last minute pressure and keeps calm when faced with competing demands and priorities
  • driver’s license recommended

Job Duties

  • work directly with ESP coordinator to meet program goals
  • attend all monthly program meetings
  • uphold program policies
  • complete grant required documentation
  • assure staffing needs are met
  • recruit, hire, train and evaluate youth leaders
  • maintain clear expectations for staff
  • provide onsite training
  • uphold ESP program policies and procedures
  • ensure site safety and follow established ESP protocols
  • provide student and family support
  • promote the ESP program and recruit students and families
  • establish positive communication and relationships with site educators and principal
  • learn site academic and behavioral practices
  • establish and maintain positive communication practices with students and families
  • visit classrooms
  • learn homework needs
  • communicate and collaborate with school staff to meet academic and behavioral needs of ESP students
  • work towards program goals in alignment to agency goals
  • follow the mission and values of MREC and promote MREC programs and services
  • build and extend personal and professional knowledge through professional development activities within the agency and independently
  • represent MREC ESP program at stakeholder meetings
  • attend 21st Century grant events and conferences
  • perform assignments and other duties as directed by the ESP Coordinator or Program Director
