Job Requirements
- Commitment to the mission of Marion Polk Food Share and serving older adults in need
- Care and concern about food insecurity in the community
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen excluding THC
- Must pass full background check including eligibility to work with vulnerable populations
- Must pass driving record check and be insurable through Marion-Polk Food Share vehicle insurance
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle to reach distribution sites and drive MOW routes
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
- Ability to work primarily onsite
- Comfortable working Monday-Friday 8:15am-3:45pm
- Ability to work seated or standing for prolonged periods
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of successful work experience providing excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented with data and complex paperwork
- Ability to prioritize and balance conflicting demands
- Ability to understand and communicate Meals on Wheels policies and apply them
- Effective team player with conflict mediation skills
Job Duties
- Conduct daily office reception duties including answering a high volume of phone calls
- Greet visitors and assist with client services and volunteer applications or connect them to appropriate staff
- Schedule clients for delivery appointments
- Respond to client inquiries
- Assist with monthly menu distribution
- File paperwork
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail for client services
- Assist with initial and annual health assessments over the phone
- Enter data into MOW client database
- Drive company or personal vehicle on delivery routes as needed
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients handling client service processes
- Provide a welcoming customer experience and high level of customer service
- Handle customer complaints professionally
- Take waitlist information, make changes to delivery schedules, answer service questions, provide referrals
- Maintain accurate client records and use MOW software regularly
- Handle emergency situations with wellness checks and notify emergency contacts
- Conduct in-person intake assessments and annual reassessments
- Communicate with social service agencies about client welfare
- Make referrals to Protective Services when necessary
- Assist with driver distribution as backup
