Job Requirements
- meet the quality level of experience in the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C
- ability to work as a forklift operator without more than normal supervision
- experience operating gasoline, diesel, or electric powered vehicles with GVW over 32,000 pounds
- knowledge of traffic and safety regulations
- physical ability to perform moderate to heavy physical effort including lifting up to 40 pounds
- ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions and traffic
- valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of operating heavy trucks and interstate motor coaches
- knowledge of cargo handling and secure transportation techniques
- knowledge of traffic, safety regulations, and practices
- knowledge of operating forklifts including electric, LPG, or diesel-powered
- skill in operating buses carrying 16 or more passengers
- ability to judge road conditions and read maps
- ability to interpret operation and maintenance instructions and meet deadlines
Job Duties
- operate gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW over 32,000 pounds
- drive over public roads in various traffic and weather conditions
- transport cargo safely and securely
- operate forklifts including electric, LPG, or diesel-powered
- handle cargo loading and unloading
- perform preventive vehicle maintenance and power take-off unit operation
- adhere to traffic and safety regulations and schedules
