Job Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
  • Ability to do the work of a motor vehicle operator without more than normal supervision
  • Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist patients with various medical conditions and disabilities
  • Physical stamina to drive for at least four-hour periods
  • Must pass a VA physical examination
  • Adherence to all VA and DOT drug and alcohol testing policies
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime if necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
  • Demonstrated ability to operate motor vehicles without more than normal supervision
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle operation
  • Ability to interpret instructions and specifications for mobile equipment operation
  • Proven reliability and dependability
  • Experience in patient or passenger transport is preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Operate patient transport vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Assist patients with boarding and securing in vehicles
  • Follow predetermined or scheduled routes and special runs
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
  • Comply with VA and DOT safety and drug testing guidelines
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of transportation activities
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff and patients
