Job Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
- Ability to do the work of a motor vehicle operator without more than normal supervision
- Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist patients with various medical conditions and disabilities
- Physical stamina to drive for at least four-hour periods
- Must pass a VA physical examination
- Adherence to all VA and DOT drug and alcohol testing policies
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime if necessary
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
- Demonstrated ability to operate motor vehicles without more than normal supervision
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle operation
- Ability to interpret instructions and specifications for mobile equipment operation
- Proven reliability and dependability
- Experience in patient or passenger transport is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Operate patient transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Assist patients with boarding and securing in vehicles
- Follow predetermined or scheduled routes and special runs
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Comply with VA and DOT safety and drug testing guidelines
- Maintain accurate logs and records of transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and patients
