Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification
  • Valid driver's license without suspension or revocation
  • Open availability including ability to work varied hours and overtime
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 80 pounds repetitively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to company safety protocols and safe work practices
  • Experience working in and around fast-moving traffic environments

Job Qualifications

  • FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license void of suspension or revocation
  • Open availability to meet staffing and workload needs
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours and lift 80 pounds repetitively using proper techniques
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines
  • Competent in working around high volume, fast-moving traffic

Job Duties

  • Set up and maintain channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to federal, state, and local temporary traffic control guidelines and plans
  • Coordinate and communicate work activity for onsite MOT personnel including protectors (flaggers), TMA drivers, and pilot car operators providing breaks and overall management of work zone operations
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers while maintaining a professional approach to meeting customer expectations
  • Drive company vehicles to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and efficiently
  • Follow all company safety procedures and notify supervisors of potential safety issues or incidents
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors (flaggers) and complete all MOT-required training within the designated timeframe
  • Complete all required project documentation including pre-job safety briefings, daily ticket control logs, traffic control inspections, and vehicle inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned
