Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification
- Valid driver's license without suspension or revocation
- Open availability including ability to work varied hours and overtime
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 80 pounds repetitively
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office
- Commitment to company safety protocols and safe work practices
- Experience working in and around fast-moving traffic environments
Job Qualifications
- FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Valid driver's license void of suspension or revocation
- Open availability to meet staffing and workload needs
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours and lift 80 pounds repetitively using proper techniques
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines
- Competent in working around high volume, fast-moving traffic
Job Duties
- Set up and maintain channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to federal, state, and local temporary traffic control guidelines and plans
- Coordinate and communicate work activity for onsite MOT personnel including protectors (flaggers), TMA drivers, and pilot car operators providing breaks and overall management of work zone operations
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers while maintaining a professional approach to meeting customer expectations
- Drive company vehicles to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and efficiently
- Follow all company safety procedures and notify supervisors of potential safety issues or incidents
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors (flaggers) and complete all MOT-required training within the designated timeframe
- Complete all required project documentation including pre-job safety briefings, daily ticket control logs, traffic control inspections, and vehicle inspections
- Perform other duties as assigned
