Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • valid CPR/First Responder certification
  • minimum three years’ experience in custodial supervision and administrative duties
  • knowledge of green cleaning principles and CIMS certification requirements
  • ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • ability to lift, carry, and push up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs as needed
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
  • valid driver’s license from state of residence
  • license valid for at least three years
  • acceptable driving record if driving is required
  • ability to comply with security and safety guidelines
  • ability to use technology for job duties
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • valid CPR/First Responder certification
  • knowledge of green cleaning principles and CIMS certification requirements
  • knowledge of electronic tracking systems such as MAXIMO, SAMS, TAMS, JAMS
  • knowledge of regulatory standards, hospital standards, and facility management
  • knowledge about regulations for SDS, fire and safety, hazard communications and bloodborne pathogens
  • minimum three years’ experience in custodial supervision and administrative duties
  • janitorial/custodial experience preferred
  • demonstrated ability and knowledge of building service management as well as relevant equipment and chemicals and their applications

Job Duties

  • Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
  • manage and supervise custodian assignments for the cleaning crews for a specific shift/area assigned for scheduled shift
  • evaluate/supervise assigned custodial staff
  • maintain a positive relationship with staff members
  • assign, oversee, and inspect the cleaning activities of the custodial staff assigned to a specific area of responsibility to meet or exceed contract requirements for quality and timeliness
  • schedule general janitorial services in accordance to contract specifications
  • manage custodial assignments and evaluate staff performance
  • ensure compliance with dress code and personal hygiene standards for self and staff
  • make necessary changes in custodial workforce to complete all work assignments according to timelines and schedules
  • train employees in proper cleaning procedures
  • identify sub-standard cleaning procedures, processes, and misuse of materials and assist in correcting any deficiencies
  • maintain daily log of all cleaning discrepancies
  • report malfunctioning restroom fixtures and any other necessary repairs
  • work with inspectors to resolve cleaning problems
  • take corrective action to fix sub-standard cleaning procedures
  • train custodial staff on new/improved procedures
  • review and ensure corrective action on inspection reports
  • suggest solutions to operational challenges
  • accept service requests with approval and provide service based on agreement
  • complete and submit vital daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • manage daily paperwork completed by employees
  • review and ensure time sheets are submitted timely
  • maintain and review attendance records
  • notify management of no call/no shows
  • assist in payroll and badging renewal
  • monitor vacation requests
  • maintain required custodial personnel, supply, and equipment records
  • review restroom inspection sheets
  • monitor uniform requests and deploy to Equipment Manager
  • review inventory and equipment logs
  • report equipment downtime problems
  • maintain and monitor equipment sign off sheets
  • review training requests and work with Training Manager
  • conduct safety training and implement safety policies
  • meet with staff regularly to review contract needs
  • attend monthly management meetings
  • maintain communication with management and airport operations
  • react immediately to custodial emergencies
  • assist in emergency plan implementation
  • comply with security procedures and site rules
  • serve as liaison with community agencies
  • assist in staff development
  • perform other duties as needed
