Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of montessori orientation or assistant course or equivalent experience
- current or willingness to obtain food handling/management certification
- pediatric first aid/cpr certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- ability to comply with dhs rule 3 and successfully pass background check
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to work independently and collaboratively
- experience working with children preferred

- cultural sensitivity and appreciation for latino communities

- deep understanding of and appreciation for latino cultures
- understanding and/or experience working with latino lgbtq+ youth
- demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting immigrant latino communities, including generational and cultural differences between youth and parents, educational barriers, social determinants of health, immigration status impacts on employment/housing/social services, trauma, and domestic or community violence
- commitment to working with latino communities in a culturally sensitive environment with a genuine desire to make a positive impact
- ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families and staff from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- sensitivity to differing opinions, feelings, and cultural beliefs
- completion of montessori orientation or assistant course or willingness to complete upon hire
- current or willingness to obtain food handling/management certification
- pediatric first aid/cpr certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- compliance with dhs rule 3 and successful background check
- strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to work effectively with children, families, and other staff members
Job Duties
- assist the lead guide and assistant in preparing the montessori environment
- support the development of children’s autonomy and model respectful behavior
- assist with lunchtime routines and nap organization
- observe and document children’s behaviors and progress, sharing information with the lead guide
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment
- wash utensils, dishes, and surfaces used in food preparation and service
- prepare cleaning solutions following established protocols and verify ph levels
- monitor and record food, dishwasher, and refrigerator temperatures using official forms
- assist with snack preparation, food receipt, and storage while ensuring compliance with sanitation standards
- maintain refrigerator cleanliness and discard expired products
- organize and restock basic kitchen supplies
- follow dhs and cacfp safety and program standards
- collaborate effectively with the team, families, and children, respecting cultural diversity
- perform other duties as assigned by the siembra educational manager
