Job Requirements

  • One year general work experience
  • Sufficient organizational skills
  • Ability to express thoughts logically in written and verbal form using correct grammar

  • Ability to maintain positive relations with staff and residents
  • Ability to motivate and create enthusiasm toward work ethic
  • Ability to work with computers and software typically used by the facility

  • Ability to express thoughts logically in written and verbal communication using correct grammar

  • Ability to interact effectively with others and learn supervisory techniques
  • Ability to maintain positive relations with staff and residents
  • Ability to motivate and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm toward work ethic
  • Ability to work with computers and applicable software used by the facility

Job Duties

  • Ensure necessary equipment for each watch is operational including radios, flashlights, and keys prior to relieving the watch
  • Prepare shift documentation including shift reports, work orders, security reports, and unusual incidents that meet facility standards
  • Receive and communicate important information from previous shift personnel about resident status and special instructions
  • Conduct radio checks and document facility counts accurately in logbooks
  • Patrol buildings regularly to observe residents and ensure security of facilities
  • Supervise resident work details to maintain cleanliness and meet contract requirements
  • Perform scheduled and random activities such as urinalysis testing, pat downs, and breath tests to maintain control and security
  • Document disciplinary actions for rule violations according to procedure
  • Conduct cleanliness checks of facility and resident belongings
  • Welcome visitors and verify identity while maintaining professionalism
  • Communicate professionally with residents and staff to foster positive relations
  • Participate in staff meetings with observations and recommendations
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
  • Comply with company policies and maintain attendance and punctuality
  • Follow safety rules and take corrective actions as needed
  • Communicate effectively to promote teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned
