Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as Dermatology Technician, Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience
- Two years experience in outpatient surgery or dermatology practice preferred
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of infectious control and OSHA preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and computer systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Dermatology Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant
- Two years of experience in outpatient surgery center or Mohs dermatology preferred
- BLS certification required
- Knowledge of infectious control, HIPAA, and OSHA preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Critical thinking and good judgment
- Organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to prioritize daily assignments
Job Duties
- Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure
- Performs medical assisting duties including taking vital signs and assisting during surgeries
- Assists Mohs surgeon during procedures according to prescribed standards
- Performs proper dosing and mixing of medications such as Lidocaine and Botox
- Sets up procedure room according to standards
- Takes and organizes photographs of Mohs stages
- Performs point of care testing and specimen collection
- Sterilizes and packages instruments
- Maintains procedure room and instrument processing
- Communicates courteously with patients and team members
- Documents in electronic medical system as needed
- Assists with inventory and storage of supplies
- Performs medical assistant duties for non-Mohs dermatology patients
- Performs injections of medications when qualified
- Assists with OSHA compliance and log maintenance
- Manages suture inventory and pathology documentation
- Provides clinical coverage across various locations
- Maintains Positivity, Productivity, and Professionalism
- Supports APDerm policies, procedures, and compliance
- Completes all required training by deadlines
