Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Dermatology Technician, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant or equivalent experience
- Two years of relevant experience preferred
- BLS certification
- Ability to communicate professionally
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency
- Critical thinking
- Organizational skills
- Willingness to travel and provide clinical coverage across locations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent education and experience
- Two years of experience in outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery preferred
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of infectious control, HIPAA, and OSHA preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Critical thinking and judgment abilities
- Organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize
Job Duties
- Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure
- Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs and assisting during Mohs surgical procedures
- Assists Mohs surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments
- Mixes and doses medications including Botox and Kenalog
- Sets up procedure room per standards
- Takes and organizes photographs of Mohs stages
- Performs point of care testing and specimen collection
- Sterilizes and packages instruments
- Maintains procedure room and assists in room turnover and instrument processing
- Communicates effectively with patients and team members
- Documents in electronic medical record system
- Assists with inventory management
- Performs medical assisting duties for non-Mohs patients as needed
- Administers injections under supervisory agreement
- Assists with OSHA checks and maintains OSHA log
- Completes suture inventory and monitors expirations
- Maintains pathology logbook
- Provides cross coverage and travels to provide clinical coverage
- Upholds company core values and supports mission and compliance policies
- Completes all required training on time
