Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Dermatology Technician, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant or equivalent experience
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Critical thinking
  • Organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel and provide clinical coverage across locations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent education and experience
  • Two years of experience in outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of infectious control, HIPAA, and OSHA preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Critical thinking and judgment abilities
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize

Job Duties

  • Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure
  • Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs and assisting during Mohs surgical procedures
  • Assists Mohs surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments
  • Mixes and doses medications including Botox and Kenalog
  • Sets up procedure room per standards
  • Takes and organizes photographs of Mohs stages
  • Performs point of care testing and specimen collection
  • Sterilizes and packages instruments
  • Maintains procedure room and assists in room turnover and instrument processing
  • Communicates effectively with patients and team members
  • Documents in electronic medical record system
  • Assists with inventory management
  • Performs medical assisting duties for non-Mohs patients as needed
  • Administers injections under supervisory agreement
  • Assists with OSHA checks and maintains OSHA log
  • Completes suture inventory and monitors expirations
  • Maintains pathology logbook
  • Provides cross coverage and travels to provide clinical coverage
  • Upholds company core values and supports mission and compliance policies
  • Completes all required training on time
