Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Certification as CDT, CMA, or RMA or equivalent education and experience
- Two years of experience in outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery preferred
- BLS certification
- Ability to travel to various practice locations as needed
- Willingness to provide cross coverage during vacations, sick calls, and PTO
- Ability to maintain OSHA logs and complete required training
- Skills in sterile technique, instrument sterilization, and aseptic procedures
- Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills
- Competency in medical documentation in EMR
- Ability to perform injections subject to supervisory approval
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent education and experience
- Two years of experience in outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery preferred
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of infectious control, HIPAA, and OSHA preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills for clinical data management
- Ability to utilize critical thinking and good judgment
- Organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to prioritize daily assignments for smooth workflow
Job Duties
- Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure
- Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, height, weight, and assisting during excisions and Mohs surgical procedures
- Assists Mohs surgeon during procedure according to prescribed standards and anticipates surgeon's needs
- Performs proper dosing and mixing of medications such as Buffered Lidocaine, Kenalog, Sclerotherapy preparations, Botox - Cosmetic & Hyperhidrosis
- Sets up procedure room according to prescribed standards
- Takes appropriate photographs of Mohs stages and organizes them
- Performs point of care testing and implements quality control standards
- Sterilizes and packages instruments
- Maintains communication with patients, teammates, and general public courteously by phone and in person
- Documents in the electronic medical system as needed
- Assists with inventory and storage of equipment and supplies
- Performs medical assistant duties for non-Mohs dermatology patients as required
- Administers injections of subcutaneous and intramuscular medications when competent and approved
- Assists with OSHA compliance checks and maintains related logs
- Manages suture inventory and monitors expiration
- Records and maintains pathology logbook
- Provides cross coverage and travels to provide clinical coverage as needed

- Supports compliance with policies, procedures, and industry standards
- Completes all assigned required training by deadlines
