Job Requirements

  • Experience in the service industry (i.e. restaurant, bar, or hospitality)
  • Experience working as a bartender
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • 21+ years of age
  • Valid WSLCB Class 12 Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Permit (MAST Permit)
  • Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in the service industry (i.e. restaurant, bar, or hospitality)
  • Experience working as a bartender
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • 21+ years of age
  • Valid WSLCB Class 12 Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Permit (MAST Permit)
  • Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Working knowledge of standard drink recipes
  • Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
  • Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishments
  • Working knowledge of bar equipment
  • Excellent knowledge in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to multitask and prioritize is essential
  • Strong ability to create a sophisticated, once in a lifetime immersive experience through storytelling, entertaining, and engaging customers while operating equipment
  • Additional languages beneficial
  • Knowledge and education in mixology an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive working relationships with team members

Job Duties

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks
  • Prepare alcohol and/or non-alcohol beverages for bar customers
  • Demonstrate a calm demeanor and thrive in ambiguous situations and during periods of high volume or unusual events
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by leading with customer connection and responding to customer needs
  • Serve as a mixology expert and share the story of mixology and the Reserve Café to provide exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items, including ideal pairings
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails according to recipes
  • Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and beverage promotion
  • Manage the service of alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company and brand policies and standards
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, safety, and security
  • Contribute to a positive team environment
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using existing organizational methods
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
