Job Requirements

  • Licensed pharmacist
  • Knowledge of USP 797/800 guidelines
  • Experience in pharmacy compounding preferred
  • Reliable transportation

  • Dedication to patient care and safety

Job Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist
  • Proficient in regulatory USP 797/800 guidelines
  • 2 years of experience as a pharmacist preferred
  • Experience in hospital or outpatient infusion settings including IV compounding
  • Previous oncology experience with chemotherapeutic or IV infusions preferred
  • Knowledge of hazardous drug handling precautions
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Attention to detail and professional conduct

Job Duties

  • Prepare chemotherapeutic and biologic medications under aseptic technique
  • Verify patient information and ensure drug matches physician's order
  • Perform and verify mathematical calculations for appropriate drug dosage and volume
  • Manage drug inventory utilizing Nucleus Inventory Management Cabinet or similar system
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of preparation areas
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous drugs following OSHA and NIOSH guidelines
  • Admix drugs as ordered under USP 797/800 guidelines
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment and safety devices
  • Properly dispose of materials used in medication preparation
