Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a closely related field
- Three years of professional experience in day care administration, early childhood education, or related human service administration
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of criminal background check
- Completion of Child Protective Services Registry check
- Driving record check
- Ability to work special assignments, alternate/flex schedules, or comp time as required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 25 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a closely related field
- Three years of professional experience in day care administration, early childhood education, or related human service administration
- Experience with grant management
- Experience in program management
- Supervisory experience
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to manage projects and supervise teams
- Knowledge of county budget and fiscal policies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with early childhood development theories and education
Job Duties
- Plan and direct the administration, programming, and management of programs such as the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program
- Provide fiscal management of grants including budget oversight and disbursements
- Interpret federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to programs
- Develop program policies and procedures
- Provide training and technical assistance to child care programs
- Ensure quality assurance and recommend program improvements
- Perform short- and long-range planning and adjust resources to meet program strategies
- Research and write grant proposals
- Approve public written communication
- Monitor program statistics and produce reports
- Coordinate services with governmental programs and community organizations
- Represent the program in task forces and community groups
- Oversee recruitment and staffing processes
