Job Description

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) houses the Office of Air and Marine Operations (AMO) within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), an essential branch dedicated to securing America's borders and facilitating lawful trade and travel. Job Requirements

  • Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable
  • Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements
  • Successfully pass a thorough background investigation
  • Physically reside in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years, or meet exceptions
  • Disclose any employment as a political appointee within the last 5 years
  • Complete a one-year probationary period if new to federal service
  • Resume must explicitly indicate how requirements are met
  • Comply with all federal hiring regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level for GS-09
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level for GS-11
  • Experience supporting administrative functions such as benefits, pay, leave, travel, property, fleet, or purchasing
  • Ability to evaluate and improve administrative processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience managing personnel records and procurement transactions

Job Duties

  • Support administrative processes including benefits, pay, leave, travel, property, fleet, facilities, and purchasing
  • Prepare personnel action requests, update personnel spreadsheets, conduct new employee orientation
  • Manage inventory records, fleet reports, and purchase card transactions
  • Evaluate administrative functions and recommend improvements to mission support services
  • Establish priorities and methods to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
  • Research suppliers and work with requesters to procure goods and services
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and agency policies
