Job Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain current food handlers card
  • Previous management related experience
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and work with numbers
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays required
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline oriented work environment
  • Safely lift and carry heavy objects with assistance if necessary
  • Ability to effectively manage others in a positive and professional manner
  • Must have a value for diversity and the ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds
  • Provide excellent customer service in a high volume environment
  • Handle complaints professionally and positively
  • Work in and around a hot kitchen
  • Work long periods on feet including frequent walking, stair climbing and working outdoors in varied weather conditions
  • Perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and stooping
  • Use fine hand manipulation including handling small and large objects, keyboard usage, writing, chopping and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Be positive, polite, and cooperative with coworkers, managers, vendors, and customers
  • Work around heat sources including grills, broilers, and hot oil fryers
  • Work with and around sharp objects including knives and slicers
  • Work with cleaning and sanitizing chemicals

Job Duties

  • Assist in overseeing and training kitchen staff on duty
  • Adhere to and enforce portioning guidelines
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Pub Manager
  • Enforce and adhere to McMenamins policies and procedures
  • Ensure food is expedited in a timely manner
  • Oversee product quality and presentation
  • Maintain, stock, and organize service and work areas for efficient and safe service
  • Regulate labor and oversee side work
  • Perform cleaning duties
  • Supervise and train staff
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll
  • Address personnel and customer service issues effectively
  • Count and distribute tip pool
  • Perform responsibilities of prep cook, line cook, and dishwasher as needed
  • Troubleshoot problems during shifts
  • Fill in for head manager during absences
