Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
  • ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment with detailed and precise tasks
  • ability to work with customers attentively
  • physical ability to perform department-specific tasks including reaching, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to required weight limits safely
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
  • willingness to work collaboratively with team members and managers

Job Duties

  • Provides superior customer service
  • takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • answers customer questions regarding products
  • assists them with selections
  • prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
  • slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
  • assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
  • uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • cleans and sanitizes display cases
  • operates and maintains equipment properly
  • complies with food safety and sanitation standards
  • complies with department and store operating procedures
  • records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
  • assists in technical areas such as baking, frying, and decorating (Bakery)
  • culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates (Bakery)
  • takes care of service counter customers (Deli)
  • uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner (Deli)
  • performs inventory management processes such as MSI and PAW (Deli)
  • ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup (Deli)
  • performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers (Deli)
  • serves and packages products at customer requests (Prepared Foods)
  • educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods (Prepared Foods)
  • prepackages condiments for prepared food items (Prepared Foods)
