Job Requirements
- HS diploma or GED or equivalent
- completion of company orientation upon hire
- food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment performing detailed and precise tasks
- ability to work with customers and stay attentive to their needs
- physical ability to perform department-specific duties including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting weights up to 55 lbs or more depending on department
- willingness to adhere to company policies and safety standards
- ability to perform various physical movements such as stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, twisting, pushing, and pulling as necessary
- ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- performs additional department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink in Bakery, managing service counter and inventory in Deli, and packaging and educating customers in Prepared Foods
