Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation or willing to complete upon hire
- Food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Capability to lift up to 50-55 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with the department

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes)
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates / maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department / Store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., baking, frying, and decorating) (Bakery)
- Culls bakery products for poor quality, expiration dates (Bakery)
- Takes care of service counter Customers (Deli)
- Uses ordering system applications (Deli)
- Uses Fresh Production Planner (Deli)
- Performs inventory management processes (MSI, PAW) as required (Deli)
- Ensures catering orders are prepared and ready in time for Customer pickup (Deli)
- Performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for Deli slicers (Deli)
- Serves / packages products at customer's request (Prepared Foods)
- Educates customers on preparation / reheating instructions of prepared foods (Prepared Foods)
- Prepackages condiments (sauces, dressings) for prepared food items (Prepared Foods)
- Cuts, slices, dices, chops, food in preparation for chef (Prepared Foods)
