Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- performs department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink in bakery, managing service counter and ordering systems in deli, and serving and packaging prepared foods at customer request
