Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- three years responsible experience in large-scale food service operation
- one year supervisory experience
- proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office
- basic math proficiency
- completion of ASD Serving It Safe food safety course and exam within 21 days of hire
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure
- ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 40 lbs
- successful completion of a criminal background check
- availability to work in ASD facilities on military installations

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- three years of experience in large-scale food service operations including food preparation and safety
- one year of supervisory experience including scheduling and directing employees
- proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office
- ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- completion of ASD Serving It Safe food safety class within 21 days of hire
- evidence of experience providing staff training preferred
- experience with food service point of sale and inventory management systems preferred
- previous food service manager experience preferred
Job Duties
- Manage all food and supply inventories and ordering
- maintain production records and cash handling procedures
- ensure compliance with USDA and state meal pattern guidelines
- monitor and record kitchen equipment temperatures following HACCP requirements
- observe and maintain sanitation and food safety regulations
- confirm proper food serving techniques and portion control
- organize and assign kitchen staff work schedules
- adhere to Student Nutrition Department and Anchorage School District policies
- resolve complaints and communicate concerns to supervisors
- submit maintenance requests and report major kitchen issues
- maintain NSLP compliance for Free and Reduced meals
- plan, organize, and make independent decisions under limited timelines
- train, supervise, and evaluate cafeteria staff
- coordinate employee timecards and leave requests
- assign and direct student aides and substitute employees
- establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the public
