Job Requirements
- Ability to pass background and drug tests
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand 80 percent of the time and walk 20 percent
- Ability to frequently reach, handle, talk, hear, and see
- Ability to occasionally perform heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and stooping
- Maintain proper food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with applicable food code and HACCP standards
- Physical capability to work in a kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years cooking or restaurant experience preferred
- State Food Handler's Permit preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adhere to company standards
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook entrees and sides on the daily menu as assigned by management according to recipe cards
- Taste products for quality and texture, ensuring not to over salt
- Place properly cooked menu items in hot holding cabinets and document temperatures on production sheets
- Assist with production of grab-and-go food items for café and micro markets
- Check temperatures of menu items and record on SFM Production Sheet
- Utilize progressive cooking to ensure freshness and quality of food served
- Break down service areas after meal periods
- Maintain kitchen sanitation standards
- Clean assigned equipment, kitchen, storage, and serving areas including preparation tables, ovens, floors, and steam tables
