Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment performing detailed and precise tasks
- Ability to work with customers attentively
- Ability to lift and manage weights according to department-specific demands
- Compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards and store procedures

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- Clean and sanitize display cases
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Comply with department and store operating procedures
- Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to build department sales
- Perform department-specific tasks such as bakery production recording, deli inventory management, and prepared foods packaging and preparation
