Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation
- completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- ability to work with customers attentively
- capability to perform duties based on specific department assignment
- ability to lift up to 55 lbs and safely manage heavier items with assistance
- willingness to adhere to H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards and store operating procedures
Job Qualifications

- communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine
- strong customer service skills

- 1+ years of relevant experience preferred for Food Service Specialist role
- completion of food safety and sanitation training
Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning (bakery specific)
- takes care of service counter customers (deli specific)
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready in time for customer pickup (deli specific)
- serves and packages products at customer request (prepared foods specific)
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods (prepared foods specific)
