Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Residency in Michigan
  • Ability to work remotely with approximately 25% in-person commitment
  • Strong communication and coalition management skills
  • Experience with advocacy and social media tools
  • Ability to develop and implement campaign strategies
  • Capacity to conduct policy evaluation and advocacy
  • Willingness to act as public spokesperson
  • Capability to manage volunteers and subgrants
  • Competence in legislative tracking and lobbying
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong training experience and organizational skills
  • Proficient interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with progressive advocacy and social media platforms including Hustle, VAN, Slack, and Teamwork
  • Creative thinker with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage assignments efficiently
  • Experience in campaign organizing preferred
  • Understanding of political and advocacy environments in Michigan a plus
  • Fluency in Arabic or Mandarin is beneficial

Job Duties

  • Implement, develop, and execute campaign plans to educate and activate coalition partners and stakeholders
  • Identify and develop campaigns to engage and mobilize partners on voting rights
  • Draft and own campaign plans, present to the team, execute strategies, and track campaign impact
  • Partner with communications and policy teams to create digital content and press materials
  • Act as spokesperson for the state and participate in media events
  • Support State Directors in strategic planning and budgeting
  • Track advocacy outcomes and election timelines
  • Monitor and manage canvas boards including volunteers and subgrantees
  • Coordinate election protection efforts including poll monitoring and hotline management
  • Collaborate with civil and voting rights organizations to mobilize volunteers
  • Lead education and outreach initiatives with partners
  • Expand grassroots networks and manage coalition relationships
  • Build partner organization capacities and manage volunteer bases
  • Write and manage subgrants including reporting
  • Organize rapid responses to emerging threats
  • Co-lead working groups within state voting rights coalition
  • Track resource gaps and provide support
  • Evaluate and recommend policies impacting voter rights
  • Serve as trusted messenger among election officials and media
  • Represent All Voting is Local at meetings
  • Draft and compile advocacy research reports
  • Monitor threats and legislative developments
  • Create training on impacts of negative legislation
  • Develop policy fixes and lead legislative strategy including lobbying efforts
  • Develop and accomplish OKRs for States and Campaigns
  • Use organizational platforms and methods to complete work
  • Perform other duties as assigned
