Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • at least 8 years of experience in plant management roles in food manufacturing
  • food industry experience required
  • ability to lead large teams
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations
  • proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office and KRONOS
  • ability to work under pressure
  • excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • effective team player
  • ability to travel less than 10 percent
  • must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • demonstrated experience of at least 8 years in plant management roles in food manufacturing
  • successful plant turnaround experience desired
  • food industry experience required
  • strong customer service, relationship building, problem-solving and follow-up skills
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • effective listener and team player
  • strong knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA/USDA, and OSHA regulations desired
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • highly organized and critical thinker able to multi-task
  • able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • strong computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office and KRONOS timekeeping systems

Job Duties

  • Lead production, maintenance, continuous improvement, quality assurance, human resources, environmental health and safety, supply chain, maintenance and engineering
  • coordinate with planning team schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
  • drive employee engagement, training, and development in food safety, employee safety, product quality, and productivity
  • measure, assess, and enhance production capabilities and performance
  • ensure regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local agencies
  • ensure quality standards, specifications, and policies are met, drive continuous process/manufacturing improvements
  • manage product quality by understanding and communicating customer requirements and ensuring expectations are met
  • develop and drive a performance-based culture aligned with enterprise priorities
  • foster open and honest dialogue with team members to improve communication and performance
  • develop a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety
  • utilize data to improve productivity, uptime, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness
  • set priorities and align resources to meet business and regulatory requirements
  • provide leadership in accordance with organizational policies and laws
  • oversee conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost
  • maintain a 5S environment
  • follow Good Manufacturing Practices
  • collaborate with human resources in employee relations and development
  • drive collaboration with R&D in new product development
  • ensure manufacturing areas meet SQF standards
  • lead a team of up to 750 associates and temporary employees
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
