Job Duties
- Ensure smooth running of factory machinery
- keep informed about production plan changes and plan daily work accordingly
- drive team to proactively identify and resolve issues
- maintain a full library of machine manuals and support resources
- ensure prompt attendance of engineering team to breakdowns
- enforce effective hand-over and accountability within team
- implement a 'one person for one job' policy maintaining safety
- maintain clean, organized, and tidy workplace following a clean as you go policy
- drive production process to meet customer specifications, quality and food safety
- manage equipment and resources to meet production targets
- provide visible presence in production area for coaching and monitoring
- communicate effectively with team
- conduct performance reviews and ensure training needs are met
- proactively seek areas of improvement and implement quality environment initiatives
- maintain health and safety standards and foster positive safety culture
- conduct daily site walk to ensure cleanliness and tidiness
- act as focal point for engineering team
- represent company operating model and core values
- utilize group resources for knowledge sharing
- conduct daily briefing and de-briefing of team
- manage engineering stock accurately and keep critical spares available
- conduct risk assessment of critical spares
- create links with other sites to avoid stock duplication
- ensure maintenance plan focuses on condition-based maintenance
- drive maintenance tasks based on observations and data
- evaluate cost and availability for repair or replacement decisions
- ensure maintenance follows production schedules
- comply with food safety policies in maintenance
- maintain full equipment records for traceability
- evaluate projects for cost, time, and quality
- complete detailed supplier specifications
- manage projects to meet time, cost, and deliverable expectations
- manage departmental budget and treat spends responsibly
- monitor costs daily to stay within budget
- oversee site process and equipment
- ensure breakdown interventions, maintenance, and improvements
