Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospital administration, nutrition services or related field
  • five years progressively responsible food service experience
  • at least three years food services management experience
  • experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or ANSI approved equivalent within six months of hire
  • ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate or ANSI accredited equivalent within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment
  • ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear regularly
  • occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • adherence to safety, sanitation and regulatory standards
  • availability to work in a quiet environment
  • ability to travel within the work space to access equipment and supplies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospital administration, nutrition services or related field
  • five years progressively responsible food service experience
  • at least three years food services management experience
  • proficiency with core Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of regulatory compliance related to food service
  • experience with computerized food service management systems like Computrition

Job Duties

  • Works with food service managers to develop systems, improve work processes and implement best practices in a timely manner
  • responsible for departmental quality assurance program
  • manages food service staff by evaluating performance and training needs, holding employees accountable for safety, sanitation and customer service
  • conducts periodic performance evaluations and provides counseling and disciplinary actions
  • conducts interviews and hiring recommendations
  • orients new personnel and provides mandatory training sessions
  • maintains accurate schedules including automated timekeeping
  • ensures compliance with all regulatory standards including TJC, CMS, OSHA and DNV
  • develops, writes and implements organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • maintains computerized food service management system including staff training, menu planning, recipe development, production standards, cost reports and inventory control
  • assists with preparation and monitoring of annual budget
  • secures department equipment, supplies and cash receipts daily
  • assists director in administrative and supervisory functions and assumes full responsibility in director’s absence
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • maintains regular and predictable attendance
