Kindred Hospital Riverside is a specialized 40-bed long-term acute care hospital located approximately 20 miles southeast of downtown Riverside, in Perris, California. This facility is dedicated to providing extensive and highly specialized care for patients who require prolonged recovery periods beyond the typical hospital stay. Job Requirements

  • Food Protection Manager Certification from an ANSI-CFP accredited program
  • Two years' experience in food service management
  • Experience in acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with therapeutic diet preparation
  • Associates degree or higher in food service or restaurant management
  • Meets state requirements with frequent, scheduled consultations with registered dietitian
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English
  • Must have good and regular attendance
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet software

  • Associates degree or higher in food service or restaurant management
  • Meets state requirements with frequent, scheduled consultations with registered dietitian

Job Duties

  • Participates in planning and creating the hospital's strategic plan to achieve the mission and vision in collaboration with Registered Dietitian
  • Manages the department by company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Participates in the planning of the department budget and submits capital budget requests
  • Manages daily department budget through operational and labor expense management
  • Develops department schedule to ensure adequate staffing within budgeted FTEs
  • Purchases and confirms delivery of food, supplies, and equipment from approved vendors
  • Inspects arriving shipments and manages stocking and inventory of food and supplies
  • Performs monthly end-of-the-month physical inventories
  • Conducts data aggregation and analysis for performance improvement programs
  • Monitors quality control and conducts safety/sanitation audits
  • Participates and leads during survey processes and corrective action plans
  • Recruits, selects, trains culinary staff and completes competency evaluations
  • Prepares work schedules and provides orientation
  • Evaluates employee performance and conducts periodic reviews
  • Holds monthly in-service trainings and routine department meetings
  • Directs menu management, production sheets, and ensures correct diet order adherence
  • Organizes food preparation and service, monitors temperatures and safety compliance
  • Supervises food safety and sanitation, handles recalls
  • Manages dish room cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • Performs physical plant inspections and ensures maintenance
  • Reports hazardous conditions and manages emergency preparedness
  • Ensures compliance with LTAC and food safety regulations
  • Stays current with industry trends and regulations
  • Attends mandatory training and maintains licensure/certification
  • Uses Microsoft Office for record keeping and reporting
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
