Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- knowledge of housekeeping functions and standards, including safety and sanitation
- knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, tools and equipment
- knowledge of clinic policies and procedures
- knowledge of common safety hazards
- skilled in operating housekeeping equipment and machines
- ability to perform repetitive cleaning operations under indirect supervision
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties
- Assembles cleaning supplies and equipment and cleans floors, rooms and offices following established schedules and methods
- replaces disposables
- shampoos and vacuums carpets for cleaning and bacteria control, removes spots from carpets
- assists in cleaning emergency spills as observed or requested
- sanitizes and sterilizes clinic areas
- washes ceilings, walls, floors, lights, windows, fixtures, mirrors, counters, office equipment and vents
- dry and wet mops floors in uncarpeted offices and rooms, scrubs and buffs floor with rotary-automatic machines
- transports trash and soiled linen from collection points to designated area and distributes fresh linen
- moves furniture to clean
- dusts surfaces, damp-wipes furniture, and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms
- daily checks supplies and orders replacements
- maintains equipment in a clean and orderly manner, restock supplies as needed
- identifies and reports any unsafe/unsanitary conditions to supervisor
- meets with housekeeping team leader on a regular basis to confer on special cleaning needs, problems and work schedule
- attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
- enhances professional growth and development though in-service meetings and education programs
- other duties as assigned
