C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is a prominent leader in the wholesale grocery supply and supply chain solutions industry in the United States. Established in 1918 as a supplier primarily catering to independent grocery stores, C&S has grown exponentially over the years and now services a diverse clientele that includes more than 7,500 independent supermarkets, chain stores, military bases, and institutions. With a product catalog boasting over 100,000 items, C&S stands out as one of the largest wholesale grocery suppliers in the country. Moreover, the company operates and supports corporate grocery stores and independent franchisees across the Midwest, South, and Northeast, working under a chain-style model to provide consistent, high-quality service. As a committed corporate citizen, C&S Wholesale Grocers supports several community causes contributing to the well-being and growth of the regions it serves. Safety is a cornerstone of the company’s culture, with working safely being a condition of employment at all levels. Furthermore, C&S Wholesale Grocers is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, ensuring all qualified candidates receive equal consideration regardless of race, gender, disability, or veteran status. Affirmative action is a key part of the company’s employment practices, particularly in compliance with federal regulations such as Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act.

As a Warehouse Generalist at C&S Wholesale Grocers, based in Bethlehem, PA, you will play an essential role in keeping communities fed by supporting various operations within the warehouse. This role is dynamic and versatile, requiring you to fill in for multiple positions such as Selector, Dock Worker, Palletizer, and more depending on daily business needs. Offering an hourly wage of $19, along with first shift hours, this position combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities with opportunities for growth and training. The generalist position helps ensure smooth functioning of warehouse activities by handling tasks that range from using machinery like forklifts and order pickers to performing manual picking, palletizing, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility.

The Warehouse Generalist will contribute by physically preparing customer orders, building pallets, wrapping products securely, and loading trailers for distribution. Use of technology is integral as you will record activities using voice-command tools, RF computer terminals, and power-warehouse systems. You may also support inventory management by replenishing stock and handling a variety of materials handling equipment (MHE). The work environment includes temperature-controlled areas such as freezer sections (-20F to 0F), perishable warehouses (28F to 60F), and grocery warehouses (50F to 90F), requiring adaptability to different conditions. Physical demands are significant, involving lifting, standing, walking, climbing, and frequent physical motions necessary to meet productivity goals.

C&S Wholesale Grocers invests in its workforce by providing paid training, weekly pay schedules, and comprehensive benefits starting from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a company-matched 401k plan, paid time off, and holiday pay. Additional employee benefits include tuition reimbursement, career progression opportunities, employee wellness programs, discounts, and assistance programs. Employees are encouraged to embody key competencies such as inspiring trust, building talent, fostering inclusiveness, driving results, and embracing continuous improvement and innovation. This role does not require travel and essential job responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.
