Job Requirements

  • 18+ years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months of retail experience
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role
  • Prior cash-handling experience
  • Able to use multiple software programs and adapt to new systems and computers
  • Proficiency in math
  • Strong conflict resolution skills to provide exceptional service and maintain a positive guest experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate about observing others
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
  • Must have reliable form of transportation and be able to work flexible shifts, inclusive of weekends, days, late nights, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Follow established steps of service to greet guests warmly and offer assistance
  • Able to work independently while maintaining clear communication and collaborating effectively with team members
  • Welcome and engage with all guests to create a memorable experience
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt to feedback, and comply with all company policies and safety regulations
  • Recommend merchandise and upsell additional products at both the Mercado and Exit Plaza while exceeding guest expectations
  • Assist in any merchandising functions including display design, inventory receiving, stocking, and restocking
  • Perform cash-handling functions, including operating Point-of-Sale systems, registers, processing sales, and completing daily reports
  • Prepare the Mercado/Exit Plaza set for the next shift
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing new merchandise
  • Perform final cleaning tasks, such as dusting, sweeping, and organizing merchandise
  • Complete register reconciliation and cash handling procedures
  • Communicate changes in inventory or any issues or concerns to the Mercado team and leadership
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the Mercado Manager based on business needs
