Job Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited university
  • Mid-management, Supervisor, Principal, or Superintendent Certification
  • Three years of relevant experience training or coaching boards with improving student outcomes
  • Strong understanding of leadership competencies for board members and superintendents
  • Knowledge of Texas accountability system
  • Proficiency with MS Office and electronic applications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to travel statewide
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional onsite attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university
  • School board training or coaching experience and certification preferred
  • Mid-management, Supervisor, Principal, or Superintendent Certification required
  • Three years of relevant experience training or coaching boards with improving student outcomes
  • Deep understanding of core leadership competencies, change management, performance management, stakeholder engagement, and adult learning theory
  • Understanding of the Texas accountability system
  • Strong foundation in coaching models
  • Demonstrated effective communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and computer systems
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans focused on academic performance
  • Experience facilitating workshops and coaching high-profile LEAs
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new situations

Job Duties

  • Provide tailored training, coaching and support to current and aspiring Board Coaches and Authorized Providers
  • Jointly facilitate meetings with Monitors, Conservators, Board Coaches, Authorized Providers, Board Trustees and Superintendents in a TEA Board Coaching program
  • Support staff in all Board Training and Coaching programs with planning, implementation, and/or improvement to meet program outcomes
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate LEA 2 day LSG workshops as necessary
  • Provide direct coaching and mentoring coaches for TEA determined LEAs to achieve milestones and outcomes in board coaching programs
  • Coach a caseload of Board Coaches across Board Pathways specifically focusing on pilot program exemplar cohorts
  • Co-create and co-facilitate content, tools, and trainings across Board Coaching Pathways and Programs
  • Coach high-profile LEAs to achieve Board coaching program milestones and outcomes
  • Deliver the Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes workshop to certify Authorized Providers
  • Build the skills of current and aspiring Authorized Providers
  • Coach LSG, TSL, SGS and/or other agency initiatives coaches to support aligned implementation
  • Ensure specific outcomes and achievements are reached as defined and measured by TEA
  • Provide strong content knowledge and facilitation skills
  • Establish, monitor, and report on strategic planning process and outcomes
  • Identify areas of program operations in need of change
  • Demonstrate initiative, persistence, and high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Participate and engage in learning experiences that enhance job knowledge
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
  • Create solutions for areas of concern
