Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ability to work under minimal supervision
ability to work in stressful environments and take appropriate action
Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire
preferred two years of collegiate coursework in relevant psychology and communication subjects
preferred one year of healthcare experience
effective communication skills
critical thinking

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
two years of collegiate coursework preferred in psychology, interpersonal communication, abnormal psychology, or human growth and development
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
Handle with Care Certification or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within 90 days of hire
strong critical thinking and judgment skills
ability to work independently in a stressful environment
prior healthcare experience preferred

Job Duties

Monitor patients continuously to ensure safety and well-being as directed by RN
implement therapeutic milieu and treatment plans effectively
serve as patient observer for individuals requiring any degree of observation
carry out general receptionist and clerical duties to assist nursing unit
maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
communicate observations and concerns promptly to nursing staff
respond calmly and appropriately in stressful situations
