Job Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others in person or via telephone to the Counseling and Psychological Services Department
  • answer incoming calls professionally
  • schedule patient appointments in a complex electronic medical record
  • check in scheduled patients per established protocols
  • assess and provide information to patients while ensuring confidentiality
  • process clinical data forms through electronic medical record software
  • assist patients with questions related to clinical data forms
  • complete immediate re-booking of changed or cancelled appointments
  • maintain up-to-date client electronic charts
  • accurately enter billing data based on clinical services
  • utilize excellent communication skills to manage clientele, UNL community, and guardians
  • be careful, thorough, and observant to details to prevent negative impacts on client care
  • exercise confidentiality in documentation and sharing of client information
  • assist CAPS team with psychoeducational materials and general correspondence
  • act as liaison with other UNL departments, local hospitals, and community agencies
  • open and close reception and workroom areas based on rotating schedule
