Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • one or more years of experience working in a recovery, counseling, or support role preferred
  • must demonstrate Christian character traits
  • ability to work extended shifts including weekends and evenings
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and twisting
  • valid driver’s license with ability to obtain J03 endorsement within 90 days
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • willingness to participate and lead spiritual activities
  • ability to document and maintain records accurately
  • adherence to organizational policies and confidentiality
  • ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicate with the House Supervisor regarding clients and their attitudes, service assignments and responsibilities
  • help clients to achieve a child of God identity and uphold a Christlike standard of behavior by assessing individual needs and referring to appropriate staff for follow-up
  • track client movement in and out of the facility and monitor visitations
  • oversee client activities such as council meetings, processing and house groups, service assignments/projects, church outreaches
  • intervene with spiritual, emotional, social, and physical needs of clients
  • monitor delivery, service, and cleanup of meals to clients
  • assess emotional and spiritual needs of clients and refer to Chaplain/Case Managers as needed
  • conduct random drug and alcohol testing, record results, and notify appropriate staff
  • transport residents to assigned church on Sundays
  • intervene with individuals not meeting program and spiritual expectations including crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals
  • vigilantly monitor for inappropriate behaviors and enforce program principles in a compassionate manner
  • document corrective actions and maintain program integrity through proper accountability and documentation
  • help maintain a safe and secure physical environment by preventing accidents, violence, and crisis situations
  • report hazards or unsafe conditions for correction or supervisor follow-up
  • notify emergency personnel as necessary and document crisis telephone calls
  • attend staff trainings, meetings, and seminars
  • participate in supervisory meetings and required first aid, CPR, and fire safety trainings
  • document all program activities including daily logs, incident reports, and observation reports
  • perform related duties as assigned
  • engage in spiritual responsibilities such as sharing the Gospel, providing spiritual encouragement, investing in spiritual development of staff and clients, praying with groups, reflecting Christian values in all actions, resolving conflicts biblically, memorizing scripture and mission statements, and participating in spiritual gatherings and evangelism training
